Healthcare Technology Executive - MedTech Insurance Entrepreneur

Nicholas Dalton is a healthcare strategist with nearly 20 years of experience in medical imaging, risk management, and operational best practices. He has worked closely with hospitals, imaging centers, and device manufacturers over the course of his career—bringing hands-on expertise and deep fluency across the MedTech, HTM, DME, and Radiology sectors.

Nick is excited to bring his industry-wide experience to Shaw, Moses, Mendenhall & Associates, where he leads SMMA’s healthcare initiative. This program was created to solve a persistent challenge: insurance models that don’t reflect the realities of clinical workflows, equipment, and operational risk. Under Nick’s leadership, SMMA delivers tailored coverage, streamlined processes, and long-term partnership for healthcare providers who deserve more than one-size-fits-all solutions.

As a producer at SMMA, Nick helps clients manage risk and protect what matters most—from families and assets to businesses and legacies. Backed by a talented team and a comprehensive insurance platform, he offers clarity, education, and confidence across personal, commercial, and life insurance.

Nick also serves as a board member of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of California (IIABCal) and leads humanitarian missions around the world—driven by a passion for expanding access to care in underserved communities. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, cooking, and spending time with his two children.
